For three weeks, two episodes of season one will be shown each Thursday at 8.15 pm on ZDF.
Teacher Fritzie Kühne, played by Tanja Wedhorn, receives the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer entirely out of the blue. Facing up to this reality is more than difficult, especially when everything else is going so wonderfully. Together with headmistress Selma (Neda Rahmanian), who is also her best friend, she has successfully steered the school out of a crisis. Her marriage to Stefan (Florian Panzner) is loving, and the puberty of son Florian (Nick Julius Schuck) has so far passed off fairly smoothly. For her and her loved ones, though, the cancer diagnosis is a journey into the unknown. Fritzie will ask herself questions and try things that change her forever. And then there are the pupils, whose problems naturally occupy Fritzie too. Amira Demirkiran and Oskar Redfern feature in the recurring supporting roles of "Ada" and "Merlin". Ada is a pupil with an exceptional gift for the sciences, which begins to slip when she secretly takes up kickboxing training. The problems, of course, are not far behind. Merlin, on the other hand, is at the side of Fritzie's son Florian as his mate.
