We want everyone to be able to use our website — regardless of any visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairment. This statement applies to the neidig.org website of Agentur Neidig (German and English versions).
Basis
We follow the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the European standard EN 301 549, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA — also where they are not legally mandatory for our services.
Compliance status
The website is partially compliant with these requirements. The exceptions are listed below.
What we do for accessibility
- Structure: clear heading hierarchy, meaningful page titles, a defined language per page (German or English) and semantic HTML so that screen readers present content correctly.
- Keyboard use: all functions can be reached by keyboard, focus is visible, and a “skip to content” link bypasses the navigation. The mobile menu keeps focus inside while it is open.
- Images: photos of our actors and images in articles have text alternatives.
- Motion: if you have chosen reduced motion in your system settings, animations are shown much more calmly.
- Accessibility settings: via the icon at the bottom left (or “Accessibility settings” in the footer) you can adjust contrast, text size, line and letter spacing, a dyslexia-friendly font, link highlighting, colour saturation, animations and reading aids for the mouse pointer. Your choice is stored only in your browser. The icon can be hidden with the small “×” and brought back at any time via the footer.
- External videos (YouTube, Vimeo) only load after your consent and are replaced by a labelled placeholder until then.
Non-accessible content
- CV PDFs: the downloadable CVs are not prepared as accessible PDFs; screen readers may not reproduce their structure and reading order reliably. All information from the CVs is also available as text on the profile pages.
- Videos and showreels: embedded videos — via Filmmakers, Schauspielervideos, YouTube, Vimeo or Cloudflare Stream — usually have no subtitles and no audio description. The players are provided by these services.
- Older articles: in some older news articles, image text alternatives are only generic.
We are fixing these points step by step.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can apply for a conciliation procedure with the conciliation body under the German Disability Equality Act (Schlichtungsstelle BGG). It is also responsible for the accessibility of products and services under the BFSG. The procedure is free of charge and does not require legal representation.
