In 1984, sixteen-year-old Anna (Lea Freund) from West Germany and Philipp (Tim Bülow), an East German of the same age, meet at a church youth exchange in East Berlin. It is love at first sight. But it is also an impossible love, because the Wall stands between them. Despite the political circumstances and constraints, they try to live out their affection: Anna and Philipp write each other long letters and meet a few times in East Berlin. Alongside Lea Freund and Tim Bülow in the lead roles, the cast includes Leo Zirner, Lukas Zumbrock, Franziska Weisz, Fritz Karl, Svea Derenthal, Götz Schubert and others. The story is being filmed by Norbert Lechner until the end of April 2019 in Poland, Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia, based on the autobiographical book by Katja Hildebrand.
