Although the young Polish woman Agata Kowalczyk is meant to become godmother to her nephew, she simply leaves her sister Eliza standing in the church just before the christening when her boyfriend Hannes turns up there. Back in Poland, Agata suffered a stillbirth — and is now pregnant once again. Agata is indeed caught in an emotional turmoil, above all because she has uncovered a deeply painful secret.
