Amira Demirkiran and Chris Gebert can be seen in the wonderful film „Wunderschön“ in cinemas from 16 December.
We can only recommend it, and here is what it is about: there is FRAUKE (Martina Gedeck), who, "just shy of 60", no longer finds herself desirable, while her retired husband WOLFI (Joachim Król), now without work, has no idea what to do with himself. Their daughter JULIE (Emilia Schüle) is determined to finally make her breakthrough as a model and doggedly tries to force her body into the industry's ideal of beauty. That, in turn, is watched closely by schoolgirl LEYLA (Dilara Aylin Ziem), who is convinced she could lead a better life with Julie's looks while finding no connection to herself. Julie's sister-in-law SONJA (Karoline Herfurth) is also struggling with her body, which after two pregnancies has become the expression of a personal crisis. Her husband MILAN (Friedrich Mücke) fails to notice the pressure she places on herself as a young mother. For Sonja's best friend VICKY (Nora Tschirner), that is hardly a surprise, since she is convinced that women and men will never come together as equals on a level footing, at least not in love. Her new colleague FRANZ (Maximilian Brückner), however, would love to persuade her otherwise.
