She loves strong women. Women with character, self-assurance and the courage to be downright tough when necessary. That is why Anna Lena Class was especially delighted with her current role in the hit series "Der Alte". There she plays a streetwise club owner whom no one can fool. "I loved getting to play a woman you might not associate with me at first glance, but who is in me nonetheless." To play women like that, the actress is also happy to take on small but fine roles. The episode lead in "Hubert & Staller", Linda Weynfels, was at least as much of a pleasure for Anna Lena Class. The two lead actors Christian Tramitz and Helmfried von Lüttichau strained her laughter muscles so much during filming that Anna Lena Class was almost glad when the episode was in the can. "Christian and Helmut made me laugh so hard that it was almost impossible to act. They are so incredibly funny — it really was a wonderful shoot." In the episode "Hoch versichert, tief gefallen", Anna Lena Class plays a former rally driver who claims to have shot an intruder in self-defence. When it turns out that the intruder was a new employee at her husband's car dealership, and a sizeable sum of cash is found in the dead man's house, Linda Weynfels suddenly no longer seems quite as innocent as initially assumed. Television audiences came to know Anna Lena Class more as a delicate and soft woman through her lead role in the ARD series "Rote Rosen". Since then, however, the actress has been able to show in many roles just how versatile she is and which facets of a woman she can play. For the future, Anna Lena Class hopes for many more strong female roles, away from the usual clichés.
