More cabaret prizes and nominations for René Sydow

René Sydow, our poetry-slam and cabaret star, won over the jury yesterday at the second qualifying round for the Lower Rhine cabaret prize "Das schwarze Schaf" and earned glowing reviews!

The WAZ wrote: In the end, only René Sydow managed to convince in the first rank. With the speed of fireworks he hurled words and criticism at the audience. Again and again the serious question: who are the powerful? Angela Merkel, Putin? No — we are, the people! Ah, I see. "The country is yours, you can change it." This is what makes René Sydow''s quality: prompting critical reflection through all the humour. His credo: "Cabaret is not where the laughter is loudest, but where the thinking is." The man from Lake Constance is especially good at linking humour with critical trains of thought. Christoph Brüske thought so too when he crowned René the day''s winner at the end. His prophecy: "You still have a great road ahead of you."

Further current nominations for René Sydow are:

- Dresden Satire Prize — Dortmund Cabaret and Comedy Pockal (yes, the spelling really is no typo) — Munich Golden Weißwurscht

We are proud of René and keep our fingers crossed that he will soon have plenty of trophies on his shelf to dust off.
