The stand-up comedians of the international RebellComedy collective are currently shooting their first series, commissioned by WDR, under the rather lovely working title ETHNO. Benaissa Lamroubal, a RebellComedian from the very first hour, plays the lead in the four-part series, which will be available in the second half of 2020 on the WDR YouTube channel, in the WDR Mediathek and on WDR television. Benaissa Lamroubal plays Ben, who has dropped out of university. He keeps his head above water with poorly paid mini-jobs, including one at a call centre where Raschid Daniel Sidgi plays his boss. When the student loans office sets out to recover the debts he has run up for his abandoned degree, he comes under pressure. Money is needed fast, for Ben's father must never find out that his son is no longer studying at all. By a roundabout route, Ben ends up almost by chance at a comedy contest with prize money on offer. From then on, Ben seeks his fortune in show business.
