Filming has begun on "Mirella Schulze rettet die Welt", written by Ralf Husmann. It asks the question: what if Greta Thunberg were a German girl — namely the daughter of the Schulzes next door? But the Schulzes next door also have a rather different sort of daughter, called Maya, played by Ella Lee.
The young climate activist Mirella is played by Tilda Jenkins ("Zeit der Geheimnisse"). Her parents are played by Jördis Triebel ("Dark") and Moritz Führmann ("Merz gegen Merz"), while the siblings are played by Maximilian Ehrenreich ("Hilfe, ich hab meine Eltern geschrumpft") and Ella Lee ("Hanni & Nanni — Mehr als beste Freunde").
When "Mirella Schulze rettet die Welt" will launch on TVNow is not yet known at this point. What is clear is that the comedy series will also find its way to free-to-air television at a later date — broadcast is then planned on Vox as well.
