Norbert Stöß celebrates his premiere today at the Mecklenburg State Theatre

Thyestes in “Thyestes”
In the title role of Thyestes, Norbert Stöß opens the 2026/2027 season at the Mecklenburg State Theatre in Schwerin with Hugo Claus’ “Thyestes” after Lucius Annaeus Seneca, whose tragedy in antiquity sought the condemnation of such atrocities as human sacrifice, cannibalism and bloodshed within the family and – still present today – tells of the devastating consequences of horror.
