Anyone who now assumes there is a new play featuring Jens Hajek at the Komödie Düsseldorf does not yet know what this much-loved actor is capable of, beyond learning lines, perhaps… namely, writing them! This is the premiere of Jens Hajek as a playwright! On the plot: Nicole, a talented but rarely employed actress, and Tom, a committed but not especially talented football coach, live happily together in a common-law relationship — but when Nicole falls pregnant, they are confronted with the existential questions of prospective parents: To marry or not to marry? Would they rather have a boy or a girl? Can we even afford a child? Are we even mature enough for a child?… The fact that Nicole's unworldly mother and Tom's father, a gruff old sea dog, get involved is not exactly helpful — nor is the Russian midwife with her not always fitting words of wisdom… With Stefan Bockelmann (who played ex-Malte in the series Unter Uns, and is thus a former on-screen colleague of Jens Hajek) and Antonia Michalsky (who played Saskia in Unter Uns) in the leading roles… which makes this, in a way, a UFA Serial Drama spin-off!
