A member of the Schöllach volunteer fire brigade is killed on a callout, with a smouldering fire shrouding the entire building. He does not, however, die of smoke inhalation — he is murdered. Colleagues find him with a fireman''s axe in his neck.
The young Asian woman Lien Han has been a member of the volunteer fire brigade for three months and was repeatedly provoked by the murder victim with racist remarks. Did she finally snap, unable to bear the constant jibes about her background any longer? And, as is always the way, there are a few more figures who are at least as suspicious……
