Judi said: she's brilliant. Who? Bianca, of course!
Four years after the shoot with Judi Dench, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Izzard and, in the youthful leading roles, German actresses such as Bianca Nawrath, the National Film Academy finds „Six Minutes to Midnight" so brilliant that it is being nominated for Best British Film.
Influential families from National Socialist Germany have sent their daughters to the Augusta Victoria College in the English seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea, so that they might learn the language there. The class at the girls' boarding school, run by Miss Rocholl (Judi Dench), is taught by the teacher Ilse Keller (Carla Juri). Thomas Miller (Eddie Izzard), an opponent of the Nazis, is their English teacher. When the body of a teacher is found at the school, Miller is suspected of the murder by the police.
„Six Minutes to Midnight" was directed by Andy Goddard, and the National Film Awards will be presented on 4 July 2022 in London.
