Hallervorden Meets Shostakovich

It was an unforgettable evening with the Deutsche Sinfonietta orchestra under the baton of Dirk Wucherpfennig, with the composer Dmitri Shostakovich and Dieter Hallervorden, who read letters to and from the composer as well as texts about this excitingly versatile figure. The Russian Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975) is one of the most fascinating composers of the 20th century, whose work emerged in the tension between political conformity and artistic freedom — a theme that could hardly be more topical today.

Actors from Agentur Neidig visited the Berliner Philharmonie and cheered Dieter and the wonderful musicians on. It was incredibly lovely — as was our dance party afterwards at the Kumpelnest.
Dieter: Oh, that's where you're off to now? Is it still a bit grubby like in the old days? Well, the Kumpelnest is certainly rather retro, but in return you get to request the music and the landlord stands you a schnapps! We had a brilliant time!
