Sylke Enders' feature film SCHLAMASSEL will have its world premiere on 2.05.2023 as the opening film of the Filmkunstfest MV in Schwerin.
- Seven and a half years after the "Wende". The year Johanna's grandmother dies. Johanna gives herself no time to grieve. Worn down by ambivalent feelings between self-deprecation and a longing for recognition, she throws herself into work for a Brandenburg local newspaper. When the original photograph of a female concentration-camp guard chances into her hands, she seizes the opportunity and tracks down the now eighty-year-old Anneliese Deckert. On her way to her, Johanna has no idea what she will set in motion within Deckert's family.
She visits Deckert a second time, secretly takes photographs and listens to her memories. The fragmentary quality, the many gaps and the harsh tone feel familiar to her. The parallels to her own family become impossible to ignore…
