Children grow into grown-ups, and our actors grow with new challenges into new chapters of life and thus into new role profiles. Here Joanna is seen as a mother for the first time, and her Melanie Fehrmann does not have it easy as a single parent. The primary-school teacher fell pregnant by her university sweetheart shortly after finishing her studies. Although her boyfriend made off relatively quickly afterwards, she has never regretted her decision to keep her child. Even so, life as a working single mother is often anything but easy. Since then, Melanie has had no good experiences with men. They were either put off by the fact that she has a child — or simply not the right company for her daughter.
