Anne (Susan Hoecke) fights to the point of exhaustion to keep her small fruit and vegetable farm running. After her husband Harry left her and Cornwall to devote himself to his new lover and to the Ministry of Agriculture in London, she has to manage everything on her own. That includes her teenage daughter Jamie, a talented footballer, as well as her mother Molly, who has grown weary of life as a hard-working farmer and is able to help less and less.
