Sebastian Nitsch is precocious and depraved
What a thrill that was! The jury has named Sebastian Nitsch its laureate. The laudation reads: Sebastian Nitsch is a daydreamer. A wide-awake one. A creator of little lumps of immortality, in which he secures the DNA of his audience in chewing gum for eternity. He brings happiness onto the stage and talks to it as though to an old friend. Far removed from all stereotypes, clichés and predictabilities, he takes us on a poetic journey through a constantly shifting and self-renewing cosmos that expands out of his head and onto the marvelling audience.
Sebastian Nitsch is a poet; his casual chords on a slung-around keyboard recall the great art of Hanns Dieter Hüsch, and in his ability to capture the whole world by focusing on the tiniest details of reality he, too, stands in that tradition.
Suchtpotenzial — applauded & booed
The Prix Pantheon audience award "Applauded and Booed" goes to the "musical comedy guerrilla" duo "Suchtpotenzial", who whipped the Pantheon audience into veritable storms of applause on both days of the competition. Suchtpotenzial consists of the Swabian pianist Ariane Müller and the Berlin singer Julia Gámez. They will be back at the Pantheon, by the way, on 24 April 2016!!!
