The action comedy "Nordstadt, was los?" is screening in competition at the legendary Portobello Film Festival in London, where it celebrates its world premiere on Saturday, 3 September. Anyone who happens to be around Notting Hill can drop by the KPH Cinema at 130 Ladbroke Grove W10 6HJ around 5:30 p.m. and join the celebration. Admission is free. Director Mo Jäger and cinematographer Marcus Lauterbach will be there!The film follows Melli (19), who returns home to Dortmund's Nordstadt district after a five-month prison sentence in Gelsenkirchen. What she doesn't yet know: her (ex-)boyfriend Yuri has a new girlfriend. Her three best friends (one of them played by Laura Maria Heid) try with all their might to keep the bad news from Melli. Naturally, things escalate."Nordstadt, was los?" is Mo Jäger's 27-minute directing diploma, which he is completing at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, as well as the cinematography graduation project of Marcus Lauterbach at the Filmuniversität Potsdam Babelsberg. The film was funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. It was shot in autumn 2015 in Dortmund's Nordstadt district. Production was handled by Judith Weiler, Butterfilm.
