We are proud of our actress, presenter, singer and, above all, life artist Nadine Heidenreich. To me she is a life artist because she has the gift of bringing a different facet of the profession to life, successfully and with cheer and energy, every single day. We asked her to write about the evening at the Zoo Palast: 22 September, 7:28 pm. With sweaty hands and trembling legs I'm standing backstage at Hall 1 of the Zoo Palast. I ask myself what on earth I'm doing here, mutter the lines to myself once more, muddle everything up and seriously consider taking the emergency exit and writing the whole thing off as a thoroughly stupid idea. That, I had thought, was how it might go — so shortly before the 2017 Schauspielpreis ceremony. But no… there I stood in the backstage area, full of anticipation and drive, and simply couldn't wait for it to finally begin. And what a beginning it was. We heard the backing track to our opening song with a 20-second delay, twice over on stage — which, for a four-part vocal arrangement, is, let's say, suboptimal. My microphone transmitter, which I'd strapped to my thigh, slowly slid towards my calf as I danced… but hey, the show must go on. The hosting got under way and it became one of the loveliest evenings of my career. The wonderful Walter Sittler at my side, nearly 800 colleagues, casting directors, producers and other marvellous people in the audience who carried us through the evening as if on clouds, splendid award winners — in short: a perfect evening. It was an enormous honour to help shape this special award and to combine my two passions, acting and presenting, so wonderfully. And what else sticks in the mind? You have to bounce across the beds with Walter Sittler — that's how you get into BUNTE! That's the trick :-)
