For the first time, the musical "My Fair Lady" features in the programme of the Bad Hersfeld Festival. The lead roles are played by Sandy Mölling, Cusch Jung, Gunther Emmerlich and Ilja Richter.

Cusch Jung as Professor Higgins and Ilja Richter in the role of dustman Alfred P. Doolittle are rather similar in their loftiness and arrogance - albeit on different rungs of the social ladder. And both must change: the confirmed bachelor Higgins loses his heart to Eliza ("I've grown accustomed to her face"), while the once notoriously hard-up Doolittle comes into money and is in turn forever being tapped for it. For the director and for Ilja Richter, these are showcase roles, which both play with evident relish. A magnificent highlight is Doolittle's wedding scene, "Get Me to the Church on Time".
