An absolute earworm is Münchner Freiheit's hit "Ohne Dich", and now, newly arranged for the BVG with a wonderfully beautiful video, it becomes pure poetry: "Without us you won't make it home tonight, without us they'll knock you flat." Maximilian Diehle is delighted: …the BVG advert is out, uploaded yesterday and already over a million views… as a Berliner I'm over the moon! And for the very first time ever I got caught on camera, mate — by the BVG of all people — and I'm actually pleased about it and I'm being serenaded too."
The opening scene plays out, night after night, in a Berlin glued to its dating apps: he, the eternal explainer, bores her to tears with his waffle. Not even a shot of peppermint schnapps can make the disastrous date go down any easier. The rescue: the BVG bus. The one left standing has only himself to blame — automatic doors can be so cruel. And always part of the picture: a strumming, blow-dried combo decked out in snazzy BVG yellow.
