Charley's Aunt

This evening, on 24 November 2017, CHARLEYS TANTE moves into the Theater im Rathaus in Essen, following its runs in Cologne and Düsseldorf. The classic we have known for decades thanks to stars such as Peter Alexander and Heinz Rühmann now appears in a fresh new guise: Jack and Charly have fallen in love. They have invited the two Turkish girls Sema and Aishe to a meeting, which their strict father will only permit if the pair bring along Charly's aunt from Brazil as a chaperone. When she cancels, the two have no choice but to persuade the caretaker, Babbs, to play the aunt. All goes well until the Turkish father falls in love with the Brazilian aunt and the real aunt suddenly turns up. With a break over Christmas, the play runs until 7 January 2018 at the Theater im Rathaus in Essen.Director: René Heinersdorff
