You can practically hear him grinning when Marcel Glauche talks about filming the first theatre sitcom to be shown on television. "For me it was pure luck and simply cool that I got to be part of it." "Gutes Wedding, schlechtes Wedding" has been delighting audiences five days a week for many years at the Prime-Theater in Berlin-Wedding. They then wanted to carry this success over to a television audience of millions. Almost all of the play's actors take part. They added only a handful of newcomers, such as Marcel Glauche. "The energy of the stage actors was simply insane. They perform in a completely different way and have, of course, been living these roles for years." In the sitcom, Marcel Glauche appears not only as the chilled-out Tom but also, at the same time, as the super-laid-back Orkan, who, with his thick gold chain and the finest tracksuit in Berlin, is an unmistakably hip hip-hop gangster. Orkan and Taifun, played by Daniel Zimmermann, are simply stunning as a gold-chain duo. "From the very first second we were just like in the episodes of the sitcom. When we phone each other now, we still talk that way. It just won't come off," laughs Marcel Glauche. "It was unbelievably brilliant to play several roles at the same time." Unlike the usual practice in film work, during rehearsals for "Gutes Wedding, schlechtes Wedding" they ran through all the scenes as if it were a stage play. The actors were free to handle their lines as they pleased until the gags landed precisely, Marcel Glauche recounts. The fans, at any rate, were won over by the result. Through social media, Marcel Glauche received far more positive feedback than for other productions. So let us hope the RBB decides on a second season!
Unbelievably Brilliant
