After his birth, Susanne would have liked to take Noah to his father in Angola. Noah was more a plan for her own escape than something that ties her down. She had always wanted to get away — back then from the confines of her own parental home, from the narrowness of the GDR, then out of every relationship she was in, and now above all away from Noah. Her son, whom she cannot bring herself to love, and who simply binds her to life. Compromises tear holes in people. Those holes never close again. Mais reflects social contexts in fictional biographies that can always be one's own, deeply personal ones too, and tells of the impossibility of what seems self-evident: the love between mother and child. Text: Olivia Wenzel. Director: Atif Mohammed Nor Hussein. Set design: Petra Korink. Dramaturgy: Katja Wenzel, Nora Haakh.
