A wild mix of mystery and comedy — and here comes Ella Lee with her interview:
"Lost in Neulich" is a fast-paced yet authentically told family story drawn from the everyday madness of life. As you listen, the Lüders family feels like a real family you are observing in their daily routine. "I always tell the actors that I like things to feel alive and just like real life. They are welcome to talk over one another now and then. That is what makes these family scenes feel so genuine," is how director Anja Herrenbrück describes her work.
The story of "Lost in Neulich" has it all: it is about identity, society's role clichés, gender, racism, politics and tolerance. There is, for instance, son Justin, who befriends a boy whose parents are far-right — while at the same time Justin falls for Sina, the daughter of the Turkish village head.
