Lilli Ray stands before the camera as little Finja in the forests of Brandenburg. Her freckles are painted on by make-up artist Isabelle, her plaits braided, and the beautiful dresses have been crocheted especially for her.
On set, Lilli works with director Till Franzen and her coach Karoline Teska. Her film brother Mats is played by Arne Wichert — and of course there are goats too, chief among them Lilli's new friend Mäh.
Playing the mother before the camera is Katharina Schüttler, while the supposedly grumpy neighbour Rufus is brought to life by the wonderful Peter Franke. A special scene: Finja serves her mother the broccoli bake she has cooked herself.
