LAUCHHAMMER is a self-contained six-part high-end crime series with strong regional roots. The CID investigator MAIK BRIGAND, 52, returns to the place of his childhood — the mining-shaped Lausitz region. Solving the murder of a young woman takes him, against his will, on a personal journey into the time before the fall of the Wall and into the present. His new colleague ANNALENA GOTTKNECHT from Leipzig asks uncomfortable questions. So Mike must uncover the past layer by layer in order to wrest its secret from the Lausitz earth. But LAUCHHAMMER is also a family story, told on two time levels across two generations. We experience the bygone world of the proud miners with their families and the dying open-cast mining of the present with its fatal consequences for people and region. A mysterious narrator's voice forms a further layer of meaning. The narrator is eloquent, a child of the region. Until the very last episode it will remain a secret who is guiding us through the story.
At the Gloria Palast in Munich, the premiere of the first two LAUCHHAMMER episodes takes place on 28 June 2022 at 8.30 pm, in the presence of the writers, the director, the cast, the producers and the team.
