Black Humour from the Far North

Black Humour from the Far North

Police officer Olaf Gabriel, played by Jörg Schüttauf, has in fact just resigned as head of the station in the small north German coastal town of Heydt and wants to set off into the wide world with his partner and the caravan — when things kick off in earnest one more time. For instead of his successor, the young BKA officer Gracia Keller arrives to support him. Because on this very day, Simon Held is released from prison after six years. And he is sure to come to take revenge on the policeman he believes to be the murderer of his brother — who died in police custody back then, in Olaf Gabriel's presence, following their joint bank robbery. And of course Simon is also after the stolen money, which has remained missing ever since. While Gracia Keller tries to find out what really happened back then, Gabriel, in mortal fear, does everything he can to leave Heydt. And not only that: his partner, with whom he was about to set off, reveals to him that she has a new boyfriend and no longer intends to come along at all. To drive home her announcement, she has brought her new man along directly. And he is played by none other than Jörg Moukaddam. A proper scuffle breaks out between the men. "In this case the woman is the villain for once, because she shouldn't have brought her new boyfriend along to her partner. But of course that makes it exciting in the film," Jörg Moukaddam reckons. The idea that Jörg Moukaddam was the ideal casting for this role came to twin sisters Martina Plura (director) and Monika Plura (camera) after they had met the actor at the Max Ophüls Festival. With "13 Uhr mittags" (working title), the two successful up-and-coming directors are filming a screenplay by Grimme Award winner Holger Karsten Schmidt. A top-class production, then, set to be seen on ARD next year!
