Across a total of four episodes, Ralf Schmitz plays the manager of his little house turned guesthouse, leading a group of four seasoned improvisers and steering them through a set background story. Unlike other improv shows, „Hotel Zuhause – Bitte stören!" populates the set with genuine sitcom characters, who can also develop over the course of the show. This gives each individual type far more scope for falls and friction within the improvisation. A game master, seated in a raised position among the audience, guides the actors through the show and gives instructions both openly and via an earpiece.
