We are delighted that the prize committee has decided to nominate Ilja Richter for the German Animation Voice Award for his role as Mike Wazowski in "Monsters University".
The award ceremony takes place as part of the 21st International Animation Film Festival Stuttgart on Thursday, 24 April 2014 at 20:00 at the Renitenztheater in Stuttgart. The 21st International Animation Film Festival Stuttgart runs from 22 to 27 April 2014.
Since 2009 the International Animation Film Festival has presented the TrickStar for the best German voice actor or actress in an animated feature film.
The award honours the artistic achievement of the actors and actresses who lend their voice to an animated character and so bring it to life, giving it a soul — "animating" it — and thereby contributing very substantially to the quality and success of the film.
The previous winners were: Benno Fürmann (2009), Oliver Kalkofe (2010), Christoph Maria Herbst (2011), Andrea Sawatzki (2012), Rick Kavanian (2013).
