Ten times the great social carousel turns, and each time it stops a couple forms for a brief moment: two people come together and try first and foremost to assert their own self against the other. The stake in this power game is sex — and the loser pays the price. What Schnitzler left unspoken in language, Werner Schwab gets to grips with through his own, magnifying it into the grotesque. The characters are forced to lay bare their innermost intentions, their life-lies and their desires to dominate. The sexual becomes a theatre of war, sex a total collision.
