He is a successful actor, but that is not enough. Marcel Glauche loves a challenge, so it suited him perfectly to try out the other side for once — the artistic work behind the camera. For the Anchor Award, the prize ceremony of Europe's largest club festival, the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Marcel Glauche makes films about the nominated artists. He meets the musicians, conducts the interviews, accompanies them for a day or two, and edits the films together from the footage with his mother, who is an editor. "Documentary film interests me enormously, and at the same time there's a thrill in jumping into a different role and being the one behind the camera, asking the questions and having to get the best out of the people and the situation. But it's wonderful and, above all, a luxury and a privilege to work there as an artist, because I have complete freedom in how I shape it." Marcel Glauche meets some of the talented newcomers and established artists at home for his films. So he not only gets to know wonderful musicians, but also gets to travel and let their work and lives inspire the films. "It remains to be seen whether my taste wins out." Fortunately, these lovely little films can be seen not only during the prize ceremony, but by everyone online on the festival's website.
