Carla Hüttermann takes her film to Cannes
A year after the tragic death of teenager Jessie (Carla Hüttermann), her mother (Birgit Minichmayr) and little sister (Lotte Shirin Keiling) cross paths by chance with Jessie's former boyfriend (Tristán López), the young man everyone blames for the death of the school-leaver-to-be. Even so, an unexpected bond grows between the trio — one that eventually leads to a long-postponed family holiday on Tenerife. Along the way, past and present seem, quite literally, to overlap more and more.
After many lean years, Germany is once again strongly represented on the Croisette in 2026. Among the most promising titles is "Everytime", which will celebrate its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard competition in Cannes on 18 May 2026.
This coming autumn, "Everytime" is then set for a regular German cinema release through distributor eksystent — quite possibly with one or two festival prizes already to its name.
