Eva-Maria Frank in a Feydeau

Eva-Maria Frank is spending her summer at home in Carinthia at the Komödienspiele in Porcia. She appears there in two plays on the open-air stage, one of them being "Die Brautwerber" by Georges Feydeau: three siblings from the countryside go looking for a marriage agency in Paris and accidentally end up at an employment agency for domestic staff. Doctor Saint-Galmier, a neurologist who engages the three of them, is more than a little surprised to find his supposed servants making advances on him, his sister and his bride, mistaking them for their future spouses. When Saint-Galmier''s mistress then turns up as well, the situation escalates. On the news that three patients have escaped from the doctor''s "hydropneumatic" sanatorium, it seems clear that these must be the Gevaudans. So everyone, the mistress included, is packed off to the institution, where they are to be cured with dance and bathing treatments.
