"Lüg' mich an und ich heirate Dich" began filming in Cape Town last week. When Dieter teams up with Vroni, is it true love, or is it all about pulling off a scam? As the charming con artist Annabel, Veronica Ferres finds her most lucrative mark yet in the 70-year-old millionaire Reiner (Dieter Hallervorden). Everything runs like clockwork until the good-looking impostor Tom (Steffen Groth) torpedoes Annabel's plans. So begins the battle over the big money, in which feelings really have no business getting involved… Filming for "Lüg' mich an und ich heirate Dich" (working title), the first film to bring together Veronica Ferres and Dieter Hallervorden, is currently under way in Cape Town: "I grew up with him, his shows and his humour," says Veronica Ferres, adding with a wink: "We got to know and appreciate each other at the premiere of 'Honig im Kopf'. That really wasn't so long ago, and now here we are, shortly before the wedding." That wedding, at least in the film, is built from start to finish on lies. No good basis for a good marriage, even if Dieter Hallervorden would readily forgive his partner in real life the odd little fib: "If my wife says, for example: 'Darling, I couldn't buy any beer because the supermarket was already closed.' When in truth she just forgot."Plot: Life could be so lovely: white sandy beach, the sun shining over Cape Town, and Annabel's (Veronica Ferres) cocktail glittering in the light. Over the past 20 years the con artist has successfully exploited many a man, but now one of her exes is bent on revenge. Lorenz, exploited by Annabel, threatens to blow her cover unless she pays him 300,000 euros in hush money. Annabel is desperate, for even for the cunning forty-something such a sum is a challenge. So Annabel sees only one option. She must wrap the stingy millionaire Reiner (Dieter Hallervorden) around her finger. With success: the lottery winner seems quite taken with her — and proposes to Annabel on the spot. But Tom (Steffen Groth), the new fiancé of Reiner's daughter Tiffany (Katharine Mehrling) and likewise a con artist, still has a personal score to settle with Annabel.
