Didi gegen den Rest der Welt

Didi gegen den Rest der Welt

90 years of Dieter Hallervorden on 1 September at 8:15 p.m. on ARD

We are proud to have accompanied this man for 15 years now:

Dieter Hallervorden — one of the last icons of German entertainment culture — turns 90 on 5 September. A life lived between gales of laughter and tears, between scandal and applause.

The man behind Nonstop Nonsens, behind cinema films such as Didi — Der Doppelgänger, behind a body of work that makes millions laugh and who, as an actor in films like Honig im Kopf, moves audiences to tears. He is at once one of Germany's most contentious, most uncomfortable and most contradictory artists.

At 90, he is still on stage. He runs three theatres of his own. He produces songs — and sometimes trouble.

The documentary Hallervorden — Didi gegen den Rest der Welt shows Hallervorden as he is today, in private, accompanying him through a daily routine he does not really have, because every one of his days is differently exciting, varied and, above all, full! And the film also reveals the great turning points of his eventful life.

A documentary by Simon Tanschek and Lukas Hoffmann
Production: Eitelsonnenschein on behalf of WDR, BR and NDR.
