No retirement home far and wide and no Alzheimer's in sight, but dust and sweat and sheer willpower — that is the stuff Dieter Hallervorden's current dreams are made of. In that sense, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne send their regards. How does one live when every heartbeat could be the last? This question is the constant companion of 17-year-old Jana (Lena Klenke), who lives with a congenital heart defect. And because that is not fair, she repeatedly risks life and limb. She wants to savour every moment — much to the dismay of her worried parents (Annette Frier, Michael Lott), who want to talk her into a life-saving but risky operation. Yet Jana refuses. When she meets the thoroughbred stallion Rock My Heart, everything changes for her. The two seem made for each other. The black horse is just like her: wild, untamed, rebellious, and lets no one near it — except Jana. Rock's trainer Paul Brenner (Dieter Hallervorden) senses his chance: he persuades Jana to train Rock for an important flat race, hoping the prize money will finally clear his debts. He has no idea about Jana's illness — and Jana certainly won't give her secret away. Only her friend Sami (Emilio Sakraya) knows what a risk she is taking. For Jana, Paul and Rock, the training marks the start of a great adventure: thrilling, passionate — and life-threatening.Producer: Boris Schönfelder Director: Hanno Olderdissen__Premiere in Cologne: 20.09.2017 Premiere in Berlin: 27.09.2017 German cinema release: 28.09.2017
