With his programme „Gedanken! Los!", René Sydow claimed his ninth cabaret prize of 2014 in St. Ingbert, to frenetic applause and magnificent reviews.
For anyone not yet familiar with the newcomer — breakout act and darling of both audience and jury in 2014:
„Cabaret is self-defence." „In the old days the princes kept court jesters; today the banks keep politicians!" „Why don't I become President — they'll take anyone!" No, the fact that a woman heads the Ministry of Defence is no problem for him, because: „German men have never won a war anyway." „Graduates don't need to know that the world is round. Only that money makes it spin!" „Did the invention of printing catch on because of the books, or because of the playing-card industry?"
„Gedanken! Los!" has so far been honoured with the following prizes:
- Jury Prize of the St. Ingberter Pfanne
- Rostocker Koggenzieher in Gold
- Audience Prize of the Rostocker Koggenzieher
- Stuttgarter Besen in Silver
- Goldener Rottweiler
- Dresdner Satire Preis
- Tuttlinger Krähe in Silver
- Das Schwarze Schaaf in Silver
