Story:
Following an accident, 35-year-old Helen Liebermann is investigated for negligent homicide, and neither her work nor her husband Dirk can give her back the strength and confidence that had previously shaped her life. After only a few days, the investigation is dropped without result. Helen bears no blame, yet how the accident came about remains unexplained. The questionable circumstances of the accident give Helen no peace. What was the accident victim, Moritz, doing in the icy night, ten kilometres from the nearest village, without a jacket, barefoot and huddled up in the middle of the country road? As Helen withdraws ever further from her relationship with Dirk, it is her lawyer Wagner — who seems to share a similarly tragic fate — in whom Helen confides and whose help she seeks. Together they reconstruct the fateful night and are confronted with a shocking truth.
