Deutschlands große Clans - Hans Holzbecher

Did you know that Tchibo was named after one of its founders? I always wondered why the coffee was called that. It all began with the Hanseatic merchant Max Herz, who was already "in the coffee business" back in the 1920s. In 1949 he founded the company together with Carl Tchilling-Hiryan. From Tchilling-Hiryan, who threw in the towel not long after, only the name fragment "Tchi" remained, which together with the syllable "bo" from "Bohne" (bean) produced the unusual company name. He was a Persian — at least half. What we did not know, though, was that our Cologne lad, Hans Holzbecher, looks Persian. At least that was the ZDF editorial team''s view. Mer muss et nemme wie et kütt.
