Small roles are difficult — one has little time to draw them beautifully, yet as the choirmaster in the tragedy "Der Sohn", Roland Wolf got everything right that one can expect of true acting craft. His role is a gem that helps make this film something quite special. We attended the premiere screening a few weeks ago and were moved. There is a short trailer here _Synopsis:_Katharina and her son Stefan (16) live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Stefan was born with severe asthma. Katharina has stopped counting the nights she has spent at his bedside, full of fear, listening to his breathing. Her worry and care have accompanied the child's growing up. Deep within Katharina, a doubt gnaws: whether she truly loves her child. Stefan's burgeoning sexuality finds its way in a disturbing manner. On nocturnal prowls through the town he frightens women, gawks at prostitutes outside a brothel and watches couples having sex. When a young woman is found dead, a suspicion sprouts in Katharina that Stefan could be the culprit. Stefan twists ever more forcefully out of Katharina's embrace. Increasingly aggressive, he seeks his own space. When a second woman is found murdered, Katharina's suspicion apparently hardens into certainty. The relationship between mother and son implodes in a tragedy.
