Bernard and Philippe are the best of friends! Bernard has it all: he is good-looking, rich, intelligent and likeable, married, and his son is past the worst. So it seems, at least — but the reality is rather more nuanced: Bernard is also selfish, a thoroughbred macho, consistently unfaithful, a pathological liar and a daredevil. Philippe is kind, generous and, above all, honest. Yet his greatest flaw is that he can never say no — least of all to Bernard.
Clouds are now gathering over Bernard''s hitherto untroubled marital sky: his very young mistress Soraya is throwing a tantrum and threatening to blow Bernard''s affair wide open. Of course, Bernard''s wife must know nothing of Soraya, and so Bernard calls on his best friend Philippe to cover for him. Reluctantly, Philippe agrees and finds himself in an ever more hopeless situation, for Bernard exploits Philippe to the very last. After all, that is exactly what best friends are for, isn''t it?
