As an ARD production, „Das Lied des toten Mädchens“ celebrates its premiere at „Picknick und Crime“ as part of the Kitzbühel Film Festival. Showing today at 8:45 pm on the Pfarrau meadow in Kitzbühel.
The Cologne journalists Jan Römer (Torben Liebrecht) and his colleague Stefanie „Mütze“ Schneider (Lara Mandoki) investigate an unsolved murder case from 1995: back then, the school-leaver Sonja Risse (Johanna Hens) was killed on the Teufelsstein in the Sauerland. To this day, the residents of Sonja''s home village tell each other horror stories about witches and the devil, whom the girl is said to have crossed. But what really happened 24 years ago? What secret are Sonja''s friends Rebecca (Vivien Sczesny) and Anne (Mia Kovac) keeping? And why did the murderer leave behind only a music box playing the melody of a lullaby?
