In authentic 1980s look, Chris Gebert films in the green idyll of the GDR for DIE SPEZIALISTEN, here in front of the dacha with his colleagues Eric Bauer, Malte Arkona and Christina Arendt. UFA Fiction is currently producing the third season of the series "Die Spezialisten" for the Second German Television in and around Berlin. In the episode "Born in the DDR", Chris Gebert plays the role of the young Lothar Schwark. A state of emergency in East Berlin — vast crowds await the biggest rock concert in GDR history: Bruce Springsteen gives a concert on 19 July 1988 at the Weißensee trotting track. Around 160,000 tickets were sold, yet an estimated quarter of a million spectators are said to have been there. Among them is Ralf Winkler, who, after returning from the concert, has to report his wife Silvia Winkler missing. She left him only a farewell letter, with the message that she wanted to use the state of emergency at the border between East and West Berlin for her escape to the USA. But she never arrived there, as the discovery of her bones in Weißensee now shows. The cause of death is a stab in the back. In their investigations, the Spezialisten come upon corrupt escape helpers, betrayed partners, blackmailed neighbours and a daughter who waited all her life for her mother to bring her over to the USA — and who at the same time bears the guilt that it could never come to pass.Production: UFA Fiction // Director: Gero Weinreuter // Casting: Ingrid Cuenca
