Carsten is a true son of the Ruhr from Bottrop, proud of the region and therefore of the role of Rudi too. The pilot project for ZDFdigital is a documentary 360° series in which the history of Germany is told at various locations in 4–6-minute 360° videos. This film tells the story of the Zeche Zollverein colliery in Essen.The presenter of "360 Grad" recounts the history of mining and travels, among other places, back to the year 1969 to the Zeche Zollverein. There he meets the miner Rudi. Together the two travel through the colliery''s history. Rudi tells of the present, and the presenter shows him what will become of his colliery in the future. Rudi even meets his idol, the "Boss", alias Helmut Rahn. Arriving at the colliery''s museum, however, Rudi realises that he too will soon belong among the museum exhibits, and would rather travel back to the year 1969.
