Herbert Schöberl is appearing in two wonderful roles at Bad Vilbel this summer. Tonight he opens in an absolute dream of a part, playing Bottom in "A Midsummer Night''s Dream". Since early June he has also been playing Brother Benjamin in "Pope Joan": dark times for free spirits. The astonishing story of Pope Joan — a young woman in the Middle Ages, without rights, money or support, who fights her way to the very summit of the world order of her day. Her adversaries are cruelty, fanaticism, superstition and ignorance.
