Normally we do not pester our news readers with announcements of new showreel scenes. Where would that lead – we put new scenes online almost daily, which is why this here is the absolute, never-to-be-repeated exception. But we want to keep seeing Birge as an inspector!Does German television really need a thirty-seventh, or perhaps even a forty-fourth, female inspector? Not really. But one like this would certainly be appealing.
Chief Inspector Antje Hollweg: dry humour, prickly, direct to the point of rudeness – a tough policewoman overqualified for work in the countryside, who investigates her cases with seriousness and care. Reluctantly, she has to work with Tuchowsky, who she thinks is "an annoying type from the city", but almost nothing can ruffle her composure – except when it comes to her cherished habits. She fiercely defends her onion-topped Mett rolls and the little backwater where she grew up and now lives and works of her own free will. She does not talk about herself, nor about feelings, but every now and then she shows her heart and a smile flits across her face.
