We are very pleased that this beautiful film, shot back in early 2020 in Australia, is now finally being shown on ARD. It was Amira Demirkiran's first leading role and, as such, an exciting challenge in any case. At the same time, it took her to Australia for several weeks. It was an exhilarating and beautiful shoot. We can only urge you to tune in to ARD on 3 January at 8:15 pm:
Svenja (Anneke Kim Sarnau) and her 16-year-old daughter Kira (Amira Demirkiran) have travelled a great deal of the world. Svenja is a hotel manager, currently getting a hotel in Australia, somewhat past its prime, back into shape. But her greatest challenge is her daughter, who has switched to total refusal and will no longer let Svenja tell her anything. At school, too, Kira shies away from no confrontation. After yet another row, Kira impulsively takes off to Jack (Tjiirdm McGuire). Jack is Aboriginal and Kira's only friend. Together the two set off in search of their "Special Place", their own particular spot. So begins an adventurous journey into the barren, deserted Outback… (Source: daserste.de)
