The television film reconstructs, in as much faithful detail as possible, the 63 days in the summer of 2015 before Angela Merkel made her key decision on refugee policy. It looks into the back rooms of the powerful, who are above all one thing: people driven — caught between political responsibility and the breathless pace of events spiralling out of control, making decisions in an exceptional situation. At the centre of it all stands the Chancellor (Imogen Kogge).
